| Hi!
It could be mouth fungus, although I'm lucky enough not to be an expert on fish disease diagnosis as I have only ever encountered Ick, Swim bladder and Fungus! The key to treating all disease really is good water quality. |

| well, my water is crystal clear with perfect parameters, the only thing that didn't work for the ram was the high pH. I don't think the Ph killed him but it may have stressed hi mto where he didn't survive long enough for treatment. Other than that I did have a little brown aglae. I didn't have much faith in the fish but I was getting attatched when he died. I don't know what to do now. I want more fish,(and less, cherry barbs) and I have the room for it, I'm just way to picky. Not to mention its just harder when shopping online, Its much easier to buy fish in an actual store just so you can see the fish as you buy them. I still want a dwarf puffer I just cant find one, also some invertebrates would be nice. Its just that crayfish and crabs can kill fish. I just feel like I'm not done with this tank yet but I can't do anything else with it at the same time. Need some input, what would jesus do? |

| Hi!
Jesus would probably dump the fish in the lake and use the tank to practise his next water-walking stunt...
Inverts are very cool. Shrimp are really great - Ghost shrimp, RCS or Takashi amanos - I love them all! You might want to think about shrimp, as they produce a tiny bio-load - in a tank full of shrimp it's not the number of shrimp you want to watch but the Bio-load of any uneaten food!
I think Harlequin rasboras would be a lovely addition to your tank. 8 HR's and 5 shrimp! Perfect stock. |

Most shrimp aren't territorial. Generally, only Macros (The ones with claws!) are territorial, but they are rare. Dwarf shrimps like Ghost or Takashi amano shrimp are fine. Cherry reds are expensive, but worth it. I think Ghost shrimps are great value for money - and very hardy. Just keep fish meds our of the water (They belong in your hospital tank), and your shrimp should be great. |

| The thing is when I shop for ghost shrimp every store I got into is either sold out or never order any. Still looking for some though, along with a dwarf puffer, only ones I have seen are the spotted, or indian never a dwarf.(no plans to put dwarf with any other fish, i know how aggressive they are.) |

| Hi!
You could try mail order? Or have I said that before? If I where you, ask the LFS tro phone you up when they got Ghosties. Works for me! |

| well i found some shrimp yesterday, only thing is that my mom was sent to buy them while at wal mart. I made teh mistake of falling asleep soon afterwards. My sister woke me to alert me that one of my fish died. I was confused because the zebra was healthy and alone in the tank so to my surprise there was a spotted puffer in the tank! This disturbed me in a few ways, first of all oen of my fish died and second I knew right off that a spotted puffer was a brackish fish, now living in a freshwater tank. What to do to save the puffer? last time I checked he was lying at the bottom of the tank waving his fins slowly back and forth. ( I tried to crush some seashell into the tank to raise the Ph) |

| Hi!
Wait, let me get this straight? You got your mum to get a few shrimp whilst as WalMart, and ended up buying a spotted puffer. Right? (I bet the WalMart employee netted out that when she asked for some shrimp!)
Personally, I'd take him to one of your LFS's as you don't have anything like a Brackish tank. I don't think there's any way you can possibly heal a Brackish fish in an FW set-up. BTW did you get any shrimp? |

| I got four supposedly, I saw a dead one in the new puffer tank and three were put into the big tank but I've only seen one so I dont know if the pearls had quite a feast or not. I tried to talk to a few people about giving him away but no one has a prepared brackish tank for the guy, hes all alone now is there anything I can do to make the tank brackish? |

| Hi!
Well, as I have no experience with Brackish, and am clueless about it, I'm not the best person to talk too! Sirdarksol keeps brackish - it's worth talking to him about it. I only see 1- of my Takashi amano shrimp at a time! |

| I think I might start a thread on brackish or look for one, and I'm pretty sure that all teh shrimp were eaten I havent seen one in over a week. Also I saw that the puffers start out in fresh water early on in their lives and then move to brackish in nature. So I know **** be fine until I can situate a brackish tank. and I know I havent been on in a while but spring break rolled around at school so I went ahead and enjoyed that. |

Aquarium silicon sealant. Should be available at good LFS's. |
