| Adorable Shawnie. I think they would have found their way out, but like you I would have rearranged the pot as well. Past week I had 4 Elders (Bloody Parrots) in my terracotta strawberry pot spawning. I have the pot standing up. Like you I was afraid they'd get stuck but they didn't. It was a site to see. They all got out on their own. Whew!! lol 
I think you had better send yours to me. Let mine teach yours a few tricks and some manners!
