Quick Question

In a few months I am going to get a bigger tank (maybe 75 gallons). Do bloody parrots like to be in groups or will it be unhappy being the only parrot in the tank besides a few angel fish and cory cats?

Hello Wolf. I wouldn't suggest keeping them alone. They really need a buddy. By keeping them alone you'll miss out on half of their true behavior. I've honestly never seen a fish that needs companionship like the Bloody Parrots.
Too, if you do decide to get them I suggest that you add them last with plenty of hiding places. They love terracotta pots to hide in. It may take up to a month for them to acclimate to their surroundings.
Have a good day today!

So if I add a terracotta pot, is there anything I need to do before I place it in the tank? Besides washing it out and making sure plants were never in it? And should I get 2 pots for 2 parrots or will they enjoy having 1 to share?

Afternoon Wolf. As for the terracotta pots just make sure they have never seen dirt or chemicals (a new one is best, they are fairly cheap), they should not be painted or glazed. Not only are they good hiding spots but it adds to your biological filtration as well. They are porous. They will enjoy sharing one Once you add the pot it will probably bubble for a while.
Keep us posted

Get the pots at the dollar store. You can usually find small ones $1 for 4. and larger ones either a buck a piece or 2 for a dollar.
