my 5 year old female bp doesnt look good , her colour has faided and she is bottom heavy plus she is staying isolated which is not like her at all . i was yhinking maybe dropsy or swim bladder !

i don't think its swim bladder. unless the fish is wobbling and can't keep its balance, i would scratch the possibility of swim bladder. What color is the poop? Is it stringy and long, or brownish?

And could you possibly post a picture so we could get anything you might've missed? If she's not in the mood for her picture, don't stress her, leave out the picture.

Maybe its old age? Blood reds have a lifespan of about ten years, but maybe she's older?

hey all i havnt logged on since i made that thread but just to give you an update , she seems to be fine now not as swollen and eating again and swimming fine so its a bit of a mystery i really thought she wouldnt make it !

Whew!!!! Glad to hear it Dee. Maybe she was constipated or something of that nature. I'm so glad she's better!
