Haha... I KNOW exactly what you mean! Ive been eyeing a few at the LFS to add to my own tank. Ohh btw, I did see the jellybean Parrots there as well as a Parrot that was sort of pinkish/purplish light body with just the head dyed darker.. What a shame! The jelly beans were diffentely dyed as well, since they had blue stripe going down their backs. But Petsmart is having a sale on a number of their fish, and was tempted yesterday to either bring home two more baby parrots, OR... believe it or not, a tiger Oscar. haha...
I did walk away with nothing but frozen foods.. I was a goooood girl yesterday..

Temptation can be awful at times. The Parrots you mentioned that had a stripe down the back sounds like it may have been tattooed instead of dyed or possibly even both. I know, it's such a shame.

Its hard to say if they were tattoo'd or not. The blue stripe pretty much looked like someone took a water color brush and painted it. Not quite the lines that a tattoo would leave. They were the size of convicts, baby convicts.. sooo small. poor lil things....
Temptations aside... Im still thinking about adding a tiger Oscar to the group, since the Parrots can be bullies with the smaller fish, one comparable to their size may be in the tanks future. I will weigh all the pro's and con's on it first.
