1st vacuuming/Bloody Parrots

Bloody Parrots (BR's)
Hello. The juvies in the 26g tank just experienced their first vacuuming. Over all it went very well. Since it's a new tank I only vacuumed 1/3 of it and went around decorations and plants instead of pulling everything up. I added some Nova Aqua+ (stress reliever) before hand. Once I started they were not very happy, nibbled on my hand and the vacuum. Then they retreated into the terracotta urn. (I think the Nova kicked in) Once I finished and got everything running again, it was like nothing ever happened. They're happy, I'm happy

I really like my new Marine Land HOT with the micron filter. Second time I've used it. No algae blooms and it's due to this micron filter I feel confident. My water does not get cloudy at all in either of my tanks. (Diatom filter for the 155g) Thanks for listening! Have a good day!

Sounds like everything is in control in your tanks. Glad to hear the equipment is working out well.
My silly parrots run into their pots, and peek their eyes out the side of the pots to watch me vacuum. They do get skittish at that time tho and my guys will hold a grudge til they are sure that Im not coming back to disturb the tank anymore, but to feed them.. then all is well again! lol..
I just love these fish.

Hi Heather...
I call them my 'tropical goldfish".. lol... They remind me of fancy goldfish in a way and since goldfish are cold water fish and would not do well in the tropical water temps, I appease my love of goldies with my BRs.
If you knew you were going to upgrade to at least a 55 in the near future I would say you can have two baby/juvies in the 29g, but I have found that they do grow fast, not like some large fish that take years to get to their adult size.
I wish you were able to have them too...

Hello CapeKate. People that come into the house and see the BR's say "Oh wow look at the gold fish. I've never seen gold fish like that before". Then I give them the information they need

Hkirchen, I agree with Kate, the 29g would make a good temporary home. My juvies are in a 26g until it's time to move them to my 155g or a new 200g. (we'll see) I know you would love 'em.

Amanda They can be sneaky.
