do pacus molt mine seems to be sheding his scales any help please.

what size tank is he in? it's possible if the tank isn't quite big enough then he may be bumping into decorations and the sides of the glass and injuring himself. any pictures?

My brother had 2 Pacu's that reached 26" and was in a 125g tank. They couldn't even turn around. I hope you're Pacu is going to be ok. I'm afraid he'll outgrow your 55g tank before long

he is in a much bigger area i built a 2400. gl pond in my back yard so that is not an issue i have a foot long plecostomus that he has grown up with and they are in there together with some other minor fish the sucker fish chases him around and tries to clean him some times from what i have witnessed. could this be the cause?

I think that would be wonderful to have them in a pond. Would love to see some pictures if you have any to share. The Pleco (sucker fish)could very well be trying to suck on his sides. Years ago I had Discus and kept finding round spots on them. Then I saw it actually happen. It was the Pleco. I don't think the Pacu would stand for it long though. Keep us posted.

I took the pleco. out of the pond and his scales started to come back so that was the cause took pics will post soon thanks for the help. (now he can reach his full potential lol)
