| | Fish Helper | Goats I have three goats. Their names are Justice, Marshmallow, and Chevrette (It means kid or young goat in French.) I am 15, and the people at my school think having goats is the weirdest thing in the world. |

| | Fish Helper | I'll try to post some later. I'm supposed to be doing the work for my summer speed reading class right now. My mom gets upset with me every time she comes in and finds me not doing my work. I have about 4 hours of work I'm suposed to have finished today. I hate my procrastination. I just find the fish forum a quite a bit more interesting than my class. |

| | Moderator | I love pygmy goats, they're too cute.
Where I live lot of people keep goats, so it's not so weird. My daughter's boyfriend's family keeps them.
Fainting goats are pretty funny. There's quite a few people around here who keep them. |

| | Fish Helper | One of my goats is half pygmy. I love fainting goats, but where I live it could be a bit dangerous to keep them. We have bears and coyotes. Farmers used to keep fainting goats because they would faint when a wild animal chased their herd. The animal would get the fainting goat instead of more expensive livestock. Or at least that's what they said on "Dirty Jobs!" |

| | Moderator | Oh that is sooo sad Heather, LOL on Dirty Jobs.. I watched that epi too, it was great and the first I heard of the fainting goats. I have always loved goats and have always wanted one. Even if only a pet pygmy would be great. Their eyes are facinating arent they? |

However, at mating time they do tend to smell really bad. Since they roam all over the place it's not a smell that lingers. I should get one over here in my yard then I wouldn't need a boy to mow my grass
