Well they say death comes in 3's

That saying of " death comes in 3's" is very much true. I lost my last Otto cat Ernie sometime last night. I found him this morning. So, now that I know whatever Burt had was contageous I have to sterilze that tank. I'm pretty sure it was cotton wool disease. That was the only one that I read about that was highly contageous. Looks like I'll be starting from scratch. Natalie

Sorry to hear that. Just to try and lighten things up, maybe Ernie died because he wanted to be with Burt again and missed him dearly. But at least they will be together again.

Thanks Tom. He did look sickly though yesterday. I don't know. All I know is that I haven't been having much luck with fish. I used to be able to keep them alive for years when I had goldfish as a kid. Natalie

Re: Well they say death comes in 3's

Yay, I know how you feel. Just in the past 10 days or so, I have lost 5-6 fish and I feel like giving up and flushing all my fish down the toilet, but then I remember all the times that I was angry/sad and I watched them and got better, as well as the amount of time and money I put into it. lol When I remember those, I just thin that it was their time and I didn't do anything wrong to make it so.

Yeah, I'm not at all discouraged and I know it's not my fault, but it's still hard to deal with. Thanks for understanding. Natalie

Re: Well they say death comes in 3's

I am so sorry about Ernie! I understand how you feel, as I went through my own loss of Rocky & Fred in January. It's frustrating, sad, and really hard to deal with. My thoughts are with you as you deal with the cleaning/sterilizing and starting again anew. We are all with you (electronically at least) to lend support & send good thoughts as you go through this tough time.
