| | Fish Helper | One of my Ottos... Hello Everyone,
I have gotten some Ottos for my 20 gal tank. Danios are in this tank other than some small snails. One of the ottos is making a habit of swimming back and forth along the back wall among the bubbles from the bubbler which is the length of the wall.
It looks as if he can't find the right place or he lost... Is this normal? He's not there all the time though.
Thanks,
Robin |

| | Fish Keeper | your otto is just having fun
many fish love to swim through the bubbles, I would imagine it feels good and tickles sometimes. |

| | Fish Helper | Oh, I see!!! Thanks Giovanni, good news then. Is there another "sucker" fish out there that gets along with the otto? I like the ottos because they are small but out of the 6 I purchased, only one is still living. Just wondering if there is another on out there as cute as the ottos...
Thanks,

| | Fish Master | Hi
you could try a bristlenose or a rubberlip pleco
My fish only do that when i just get them or i rescape, it indicates them being lost!
lol
well... thats what i think lol |

|
| | Fish Keeper | hmmm... a ten gallon tank really isn't much to work with, as most algae eaters need at least a 20 gallon tank or larger. Ottos are your best bet unless you can afford a larger tank, then you could try bristlenose catfish. Not so much cute, but some variations are very pretty. |

| | Fish Helper | Ha... Yes, it is a 20 gal. How large do the plecos get? I did see one that was awesome! It was black with yellow dots - very pretty.... Thanks for the suggestions!

| | Fish Helper | I was thinking maybe another type fish wouldn't be so apt to die so soon after I got it. Are the plecos pretty hardy? Also, those darn ottos seem to hide before dying so I don't find them until they've been in the tank DEAD for a few days - yuck....

| | Fish Keeper | Oops!
I was looking at your aquarium info on the left.
Go ahead, a bristlenose pleco or rubberlip would make a wonderful addition. IMO some variations of bristlenoses are more touchy than others, but overall, they're both pretty hardy fish. |

| | Fish Helper | Opps... I need to update that info! Do either of those fish need to have "friends"; more than just one of them? I looked at some pictures of the bristlenose and, well, they have a face only their mothers could love!!!
Thank you,

|
| | Fish Keeper | Nope. BN plecos and rubberlips can do fine just by themselves. |
