Would 1 otto get lonely or do they like groups? Thanks much

I've been told they like groups of 3 or more. I personally have 2 and I almost never see them interact. They're usually on opposite sides of the tank.

As far as I know, Otocinclus are schooling fish. They are more active and feel more secure in groups of at least 4 or more.

I have just one and he does fine.

Well, they can live and function alone, but they are happier in schools.

I wish I could get him a couple friends, but I currently only have a 5 US gallon. I have been hoping to get a 20+ gallon and more Otos & Khuli Loachs when I get my own place.

Who else do you have in the tank? Even if you get one more, he'd probably be happier and Otos have a very small bioload.
