I have 2 tanks that I'm wondering about getting oto's for.

First, how many oto's should there be together minimum?

My first tank is a 29g. I don't want the otos (my plan was to get 5 emerald cory's and then I'd be stocked) but my mom told me she thinks I should have something to eat the algae. I have mollies, but they're not really "algae eaters". The tank looks a little green right now, but when I do water changes the water is just brownish (I'm pretty sure it's from the driftwood). Should I get some? I really want to stick with my oroginal plan.

The second is a 10 gallon that I'm going to have 3 dwarf puffers in. I don't particularly want oto's there either, but I'm going to have live plants, so will I need them to keep it clean from algae?

I'd say 3 otos minimum. But I wouldn't get fish that you don't really want.

honestly i wouldn't get them. it's way easier to just buy an algae scrubber or solve the problem of why you have algae (near a window, overfeeding, etc) than to buy fish to deal with the problem. i say stick with your original plan
