I have a question. My otocinclus fish, 3 of them, were acting strangely a few months ago. It is not harmful, but I am confused by their behavior, since I did not know that they did this. They will sort of bury themselves in the gravel to get under a log I have. When they get there, they will attach themselves to the bottom of the log, like a fish to the belly of a shark. They will stay there al of the time. I have only seen them a few times in the past couple months! If I lift up the log they will be there and sometimes scatter, and sometimes just sit still and hope I go away, like bugs under a rock. I is very strange behavior. Anyone have any guesses why they are acting this way?

Oto's do like to hide, but i have never heard of burrowing oto's they may be feeling stressed as they are very particular about water conditions and I see you are adding salt as a conditioner.

None of the Oto's, the BN or your betta like any salt in their water.

They may also be hiding frm the Betta if he is one of those that does not like tank mates, although my daughters betta is fine with his oto buddy
