ok i have two otto and their doing great. and are usually very active chasing each other around or being chase by my betta. but recently i can only find one at any given time. a few weeks ago one disappeared and the second just moped around at the bottom. a good 10 days later the little guy showed up just when i decided to get another and things were back to normal and they both looked happy.
but of course hes disappeared again and the other one is moping at the bottom.
i know their good at hiding but this is ridicules. its a small tank and i checked the moss the tree and in the plants even the filter. but noting.

how much time should pass before i declare him dead? and get the other otto a friend he looks so sad im not sure if hes eating since i see more algae than usual.

Butterfly

Give the tank a good looking over and see if you can find him dead or alive. If he is dead he could cause the ammonia to spike.
