So my hubby took me to the pet store....
One day he's gonna learn that its a very bad idea to do so! :P
Anyway, I just had to look at the tank with the oto's and dwarf gourami's. There was this one poor skinny oto he looked like his skin was just hanging off him. He was chasing the gourami's around like crazy. Not only did I feel bad for them, but the poor little guy... you could tell he was starving. And I coudln't help but bring the guy home. So, we skipped acclimation, and just put him in the tank because I just couldn't stand to see him without food anymore. He is now sitting on the output of the filter and hopefully eating some of the algae on it.
So the girl, when I tell her I want that little scrawny looking guy, tells me that he'll probably die. I was like, I know, but he has more of a chance in my tank that has plenty of algae for him to eat than in theirs that has none. And she proceeds to tell me that algae is bad for my tank. I tune her out and take my fish and leave. Hope the poor little guy makes it, but even if he doesn't I know he had a much better chance in my tank than he did in theirs.
