jeesh ive put three in so far and he's sat there and ate all three. theres plenty of brown algae in the tank but i wanted my otto to get used to the waffers being there. also to supplement his diet with something else. anyone have any bright ideas to distract my gourami? or another suggestion for a favorite food he might like better?

turn the light off prior to adding the wafers. Do this in the evening, otherwise the gourami will get it every time. We have the same problem, the above method works.

Lights off is good. Another angle is to put 1 wafer on the right and another, 30 seconds later, off to the left. Especially if mr piggie is a singleton, this should help. Our danios are likewise voracious ... but often won't notice the second pellet.
