I have six ottos in my 25 gallon......sometimes I wake up inthe middle of night to look at my fish and my ottos are always clear!!! has anybody else seen this with their ottos I thought it was pretty darn cool!

It has been said that when a fish sleeps it can loose its color though i have never witnesed this for my self nor do i have proof of it as a fact but, it would answer your question.

Several of my fish "wash out" when the lights go off. My cardinal tetras, and redline sharks both do this. Never noticed it in the ottoes though, I'll have to watch....

My ottos are like this, somethimes I actually think they're dead, but they're just on the gravel sucking away at algae. My black neons lose some color, as do my Gouramis. I think it's a common thing, I guess the light just brings out the best in them.

My neons do this. The first time i saw it I thought they were all sick! They're color comes right back after I turn on the lights.
