Oto help

I have 3 ottos in my ten gallon tank with my 2 guppies. I really don't think there happy at all because they just stay hidden in between the rocks in the aquarium all day. I wanted to know if anyvbody had any suggestions to make them happier

I just finished cycling my new 25 gallon tank and I was wondering if maybe they would be happier in there

they just seem very shy and they never eat the food I give them I guess there just living off the guk that grows all over the aquarium : \

How long have they been in the tank?

EDIT: And what are you feeding them?

If you test your water it would help. You have not listed your water readings for either tank, so you don't really know if your 25 gallon tank is cycled...

Otoes are VERY sensitive to water conditions. If you have high nitrates in your 10 gallon from having 17 fish in it, this could account for their behavior.

Are you doing water changes? If so, how much and how often?

I would recommend you get the API Master test kit for freshwater, and start testing your tanks every day until you get this all sorted out. Any time your nitrates get up to 20 in your 10 gallon you should be doing 25% water changes until it comes back down...It may take several every day for awhile.
