Hi Guys,
Been gone from the board for awhile...
Have a question.... I had 2 Otto's one died & one I still have, however, he is not really eating too much algae, & it is growing like crazy in the tank....
could it be just this Otto? I mostly see him cleaning the driftwood, not so much anything else. So, should I get another one.. is he lonely? or should I get a zebra loach or some other loach or other algae eater?

Thanks for any input, I really need something that won't get too big & will keep the algae under control.

otos are happiest when there's 3 or more, but can be happy with just 2. they are social though and being alone will affect the oto.

It's typical for Otos not to eat algae if there is other food available like algae wafers. But...how big is he getting? If he's much longer than 1.5-2 inches, then he may not be an Oto. Do you have a pic of him you could post?

And yeah if he's an Oto then he'll be happier with a few friends.

He is not really that much larger thatn when I got him... I have a pic in my post here:

this is the Otto, I have had the longest, I have had about 5 or so (one @ a time) come & go... this one seams strong.

Yea, that's definitely an oto. Get him a friend.
