hi, new here, but found this site and wanted to share...i posted earlier, but under freshwater breeding (oops!) anyway, my otos spawned about a week ago and i have new fry swimming all over my tank. i have posted pics under the oto photo section, but just in case you don't see them i'll put them here as well. i hope you enjoy......i know i do........these little guys are awesome!!!!

Hi Travicki. Is there enough algae in your tank? These little guys (oto fry) can die in a matter of a couple of days if out of food. A lot of people report their fry not making it beyond one week old. Am not saying this to bum you out, but so you have the best chances on your side to avoid this.

thank you for your advice and the links........very helpful. the fry have been alive for about a week now and seem to be growing pretty fast. i have already started to grow algae in a glass outside. in the meantime, i have put an algae wafer in the tank every night and also some zuchini. they don't really seem to like the zuchini much, so i was thinking of peas. i've read they like those. guess we'll see how it goes. thanks again.

Cool. Really glad it's helped. Reason I gave you the links is I've had the same experience really recently so I figured I'd save you the panick of reading up that they starve pretty quick.
