Mine do that all the time, but they are usually hiding in the java moss and don't want to come out and play.

Re: ~ Cant find JD Turkeltin?? ~
I picked up two last Saturday -- one of them is always hanging out near the front of the tank, either right on the glass, or on a plant that's near. He seems to like hanging with the corys. The other one was shy from the beginning, and disappears for long stretches at a time. I rarely see him in the morning, and usually only spot him in the evening.
I'm getting a lunar light for the tank today, so I'm going to be curious to see if the shy one is any more active after 'lights out'.

Re: ~ Cant find JD Turkeltin?? ~
In one of my tanks, they disappear and reappear all the time.
However, in my wife's betta's tank, they disappeared and stayed that way. (Ok, I found one of them, or a bit of fuzz that used to be one of them).

Re: ~ Cant find JD Turkeltin?? ~
I put in the lunar light last night, and did notice both of them are more active after 'dark'. They've been doing a great job cleaning off the green algae on the tank glass -- now they just need to find the spot or two of brown algae I saw on one of the plastic plants last night...

Re: ~ Cant find JD Turkeltin?? ~
They must have heard me -- when I got home from work yesterday and checked the tank, every bit of brown algae was gone, and two little fat-and-happy otos were hanging out on some leaves digesting away.

Re: ~ Cant find JD Turkeltin?? ~
They are quite good at disguising themselves as part of the plant stem, part of the heater, part of the gravel etc etc.
So far mine doesn't really hide and spends most of the time right out in the open chomping away at the algae on the driftwood, plants and heater. Sometimes if I can't find him he's just laying really still and if I look hard enough I see him hanging on the back of the filter intake tube or the stem of a plant.
