Somethin' tasty to eat fo' dinnah besides cucumber!!

Okay. So my tank stays clean because of my three little bellies! I feed them a wafer twice a week. They don't eat it, my mollies end up eating it! I feed them cucumber about once a week and it's gone by morning. Is there another veggie that they like? I went for it and tried a nice piece of lettuce, a big one, secured it with some plant weights but they didn't even get curious with that. I heard maybe sometimes they like carrots?? Anything else??

I've had some success with spinach, though it needs to stay in the tank for a couple of days to start breaking down (which becomes a water quality issue)

I don't have otos, I have plecos...however...

I could never get my pleco to eat his algae wafers, he ignored them, and my rosy barbs would eat them instead. My pleco loves cucumber though, and I use a veggie clip to hold it in place. As an experiment, I used the veggie clip to hold an algae wafer...and my pleco ate some.

I think I'm going to have to start de-seeding the cuc's. I gave the tank a good vacuum today and there were seeds hidden EVERYWHERE!

Really, they will eat all of those? I grow all of those in my backyard. What about apples? Or would they be to acidic?

And yet mine just love when they get that treat. They don't let any other fish near it when feasting away.

Really? Seeds are the first thing mine devour!

Oh, I've tried something yesterday, to vary their diet. I've dug in some tiny holes (with my nails) in a slice of zucchini and I've planted some protein pellets in there. That should give them some variety.

If you have any stick type food, you don't have to make holes. Just push it into the soft side of the zucchini.

Didn't really work without digging a slit with my nails. Ah well, didn't take that long.
