i know oscars and jd's are ok,
but how ok are they?
i want and oscar and jack dempsey,
but the jd is so expensive,
i dant whant to take that chance with 40$
does anyone here have oscars with jd's?

what i've heard they can mix as long as the ocscar doesn't get to big and it says electric blue a electric blue will not mix with a jack dempsey

Of course any 2 fish could have problems together in the same tank simply because they don't like each other, just like people. But with that said, your best chance of making it work, would be to put them in the tank together while they are young and small, and get them so they are about the same size when you introduce them into the tank. How big is the tank?

Oscars and Jack Dempsy are a classic combonation.
I have no problem with mine.
Try to get them similar in size, just to be safe about it.
And feed the **** out of them for the first few weeks, this will prevent them from thinking "the new fish is stealing all my food".
(I know, I know, easier said than done)

Well, if you want a suggestion.
Buy at least a 55 gallon.
I had one, then I upgraded to a 90 gallon extra tall.
All the 55 gallon parts fit the 90 XT.
the stand, the hood the UG filter.
the front & rear panels are same as a 110. if fact I think a 70 gallon is a shortened 110.
