I bought a tiger oscar yesterday, it's 2in right now, i was wondering what else I could put with it and I figure I better do so quickly before it gets bigger, I wouldnt want it attacking any smaller fish.
i've heard they do well with Jack Dempsy's, is that true?

in a 55g, he could be with a dempsey as juvies..after about a year to a year and a half max, they would need a much larger tank..some other tank mates can be silver dollars, convicts, pictus catfish, blood red parrots ...to name a few..but remember, these are fish that get huge and even as small juvies, they have a ton of waste and need extra water changes.....you dont have the oscar in your 10g tank do you?

I hope so but you probably should update your aquarium info as you have him listed in your 10 g...and with the fish listed, he will grow in no time as he will eat them ....good luck and share pics when you can!
