I was trying to watch t.v yesterday but found myself once again staring at my 300g oscar tank. I noticed theyre acting strange, they are very territorial, they stay on the left half of the tank and chase any other fish away, they also fighting with eachother, nothing to worry about they pick at eachother and then stop and carryon later, inbetween fighing they swim next to eachother. The tank is set at 79"f and ive recently done a 70% water change. the tank is completely cycled so I can only think that they are either getting territorial becuase theyre two males or they are territorial because they ready to spawn which is odd cos the one is much bigger than the other, Astrodam is about 14" and Captain Cook is about 8" when do they start spawning? Or is this just normal Oscar behavior? IM really worried about them cos they seem very agro at the moment.

Its just normal Oscar behavior, my dad used to have a 180 gallon tank with Oscars and some sort of fish, i forgot What they were all i remember was that they were silver and about 1 inch each but whenever the Oscars started fighting all of the silver fish things would gang up on both Oscars and beat they outta them, then the Oscars would go pout in the corner of the tank. However as good as these fish sound from what my dad told me, sometimes they silver fish things will get carried away and almost kill the Oscar so he would somtimes have to put a wooden stick in the tank (as a precation not all of the Oscars like him) and scare the fish away from the Oscars.

If you want i can try to figure out what the silver fish are called.
