No, a tank that size isn't big enough for an Oscar. Oscars need a minimum 3ft tank, preferably 4ft.

I wouldnt keep an oscar in a tank smaller than 75 gallons. You can when they are smaller but when they get big you need to upgrade. A 55 is too small also because its only a foot wide. Think about living in a 5x5 closet.
