IMO, if I was going to put that much $$ and effort into a tank, I would keep fish that were garunteed not to destroy it.
Oh Dx well the plants need more than 2watts atleast min of 3watts of lighting. and whats IMO? O:

The fish in my avatar, the b lue with black barring is a female kenyi (african cichlid from malawi) The one in the sig is a psudo polit male (another malawi)

These fish are s uited for a 55g, you can stock up to 15 malawi mbuna in a 55g, they get about 3-5 inches a peice, you get the color and personality with them as well.

Thanks Ill soak it all in. o.o which occured to me. You know what musk turtles are? I have a pair and I was thinking to put one of them in a 55 with fish. I like cichlids but Dont know if its such a wise decision. If not ill leave the turtle where it currently is (my other tank) I love my turtles but am allowed to keep one inside the rest have to go in my basement(its all good down there same temperature and its nice down there) But I want one in my room if I cant get a large fish. Iam still thinking of the jack dempsey. But I want to make sure I have all knowledge before buying anything. And I said that about the turtle because Iam getting them checked and dewormed (if they have anything) and check for any infections or parasites so yeah. Musk turtles can live perfectly well in warm waters as well as cold waters. My musk turtles (not the res the res is terribly violent towards fish except armoured cats) well my musk turtles are very indifferent to fish so I wanted to know if I could keep them with cichlids....and these arent as messy as other turtles so yea

I wouldn't mix a turtle in with cichlids in a 55g. It just sounds like a disaster waiting to happen. There isn't enough room for one to hide if the turtle got hungry enough.

That fish is in a 6 ft. tank. Which would be around 125 gal.

Musk turtles wouldn't bother other fish, it's more like the other way around if you're dealing with big SA/CA cichlids.

yeah now I know. So I can try other smaller fish. Iam trying to expand my options. I can either move in my turtle and put smaller fish. Or I can get a jack dempsey cichlid. Or get a catfish*non armoured* I still dunno what good freshwater fish that are very odd and interesting to keep.

The best thing is to do A LOT of research & then bring your ideas back to the forum.
