It sounds like a cool idea, but a smallmouth will not live for life in a 90G and releasing it back is not really a responsible option. Unless you are prepared to filet it when it gets too big, I'd skip the bass. Your Oscar will fully occupy a 90 before you know it. If the Knife is doing ok with the oscar, count that as a bonus. If you add a 5" bass to that tank, I'm afraid it would end with a dead bass. My money is on the oscar anyday. (JMO). A native tank is neat, a SA tank is neat, an African tank is neat... mixing all three is gonna end up in at least one fish dead.

Good morning. For a couple of years (a long time ago) I kept all creek fish in my tank. Bream, Red Breast, Channel Cat and Bass. The bass ended up killing one of my large Red Breasts. I would not recommend keeping a Bass with tropical fish. It spells disaster!

Bass are coldwater fish, they have no business being kept in a tropical tank with an oscar. Not to mention you would stunt the basses growth putting it in a 90g tank. They need at least a 200g to themselves.
Your tank is pushing it with one oscar already.

That should be easy to determine; 90g tanks are typically four feet in length, 125g tanks are usually six feet.

That said, as Angela pointed out, bass have an entirely different temperature requirement than your current fish, even if your tank were large enough to support three large predators at the same time.

measure the tank dimensions put them on this thread and i or someone can give you the tank volume. it sounds like it's either a 4 foot tall or a 5 foot tank. i have a friend who has a 6 foot tank and it is 165 gallons. it's 6 foot by 2 foot by 2 foot.

back to the point, i wouldn't add a bass, only because they get big. this may sound hard to believe but not all oscars are as aggressive as you think. i've seen people keep 12 inch oscars with 6 inch angels. this other guy had 2 oscars with tiger barbs. i'm not saying you should keep them with these much smaller fish, i'm saying it's not impossible but at the same time i'm saying it's still unlikely and risky.

Sounds like an interesting idea. If you could, I would get another tank but do some research so you would know how to take care of it.

You have a 90. As other people pointed out, there are multiple reasons to NOT keep a bass with an Oscar (regardless of tank size).
