Worried about new oscar

I just inharited an 60 gallon tank and 2 plecos. On sunday I cleaned the tank and filters, the tank was discusting. Snails had tanking over the tank. The plecos seam fine and the water is clear. I used tetra easybalance to treat the water. I have not tested the water yet. Today I Picked up a Oscar its about Three inches or so. I the bag in the tank for about 15 mins and add a little tank water every 5 mins or so. it seamed to be fine put it in the tank and it swam around a bit and then layed at the bottem, i got a little worried so i tryed to get it with my net and it started swimming again, I did this twice. now its staying up at the surface rite under the filter. SHOULD I BE WORRIED?

Oscars quite often act this way when introduced to a new tank, I wouldn't worry too much about it. On another note though, two Plecs and an Oscar will be very cramped in a 60gal tank when fully grown.

I would say the Oscar is acting normally. Just taking time to adapt to it's new surroundings. Good luck. We'd love some pictures

welcome to fishlore!!!

Hows the oscar today? I hope better!! although I agree its probably settleing in, I also think like nick said that 2 plecs in that size tank could produce a ton of waste aka ammonia if the tanks not cycled... , im wondering what are your water partimeters for ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate? partial water changes with some prime always make fishies feel better....and id also think about returning one of the plecs so you dont have to do every other day water changes in the future
