Tiger OScar- Worried

id like your advice...

i got myself a pair of tiger oscars roughly 24 hours ago...i always thought they were quite a bold and confident species...however since ive rellocated them they have been nothing BUT scared to death from anyone approaching the tank...

they both are constantly in hiding...so far so that when you approach the tank they just bumb into the glass and try and jump out of the tank...! its really scaring me...! what can i do!? feeding is out of the question at the moment...

tank specs:
6' x 1.5' x 2'

capacity ~150 gallons

stock:
2 tiger oscars (~6 inch each)
4 blood parrots (~4 inch each)

in need of help desperatly!

how did you acclimate them? if you acclimated them fairly slowly, then they're probably just stressed from the move and adapting to their new environment. they should be perfectly fine in a few days i'd hold off on feeding like you said, and see how they do

I wouldn't worry too much about it unless they're still like it in a few days. Oscars are usually bad movers, either panicking like yours or lying on their sides at the bottom. They usually perk up after a day or so though.

ROFL.
When I was at my LFS, they had just gotten a shipment of Oscars in - they were all laying on their sides on the bottom. What little babies!! Trying to make a statement, lol.
