well the might once larger but it is a normal occurance to have these 2 fish together and the aggression will be cut down if they are closer in size as well as the large tank.i say go for it. but if i were you i would get 6 or 7 small oscars and grow them till you get a breeding pair. they are the 2 most popular cichlid and you could make a killing if you get a pair with good genetics

evan a pair of oscars couldnt survive in a tank that size..takes a long time to mature them for mating and their bioload wouldnt work in the meantime in a 56 gal

and yes den there probably will be agression as those are both agressive fish ..but they tolerate and hang out with eachother as well....
