Hey hey hey everybody, would a Penguin 350B work for a single oscar in a 55g tank? It has like 350 GPH, and two biowheels. I know I need ten times the gph as gallons in the tank, but does the biowheel make a difference? Also, would adding an internal filter be an option if the Penguin is not enough? Sorry if i asked too many ?s.

I would say that one's not enough, but two would probably do fairly well.

Oscars are a big messy fish so in my opinion you need the mechanical filtration as much as the bio filtration...good luck.

Oscars are one of the most messiest tropical fish in the world. You need 2 canister filter.

I had oscars for some time in my 200 gallon, and they are messy.

Oscars can get big and nasty.. I had to put a divider between my arm and the oscar when I was siphoning the tank, and then I move the oscar to the other side, and then start siphoning the other side.. then I would take out the tank divider, and put back the lid and everything.

Also, I fed the oscar fish flakes, and sometimes live mysis shrimp.
