Pumpkinseeds need cooler water.
Convicts are too small.

Hi Kiely. The Pumkinseed are compatible with Oscars, as long as you provide a propper set up. In the long run, the Convicts will be in jeopardy of becoming lunch.

Check this link for Oscars tankmates:

However. temporarely, if your Oscar is young, you could keep them together for some time, maybe even a year as your Oscar grows up.

I have two young Tiguer Oscars, one is allready 8" and the other one is 6" in a 145gal tank, among other tankmates I keep four young Convicts and so far no problems at all, but the Convicts will be housed in another tank (since they multiply as rabbits, I plan to breed them to feed the Oscars and Severums with their fry).

adding any fish with an oscar is always a hit or miss..I have a mating pair that are about 10 and 11" and they are with some jack dempseys, silver dollars, and convicts...each hold their own, but never forget oscars are meat eaters and if they can fit it in their mouths, they will enjoy any fish...

A lot of it depends on the size of the tank.
In anything 55 gallons or smaller, one oscar by itself is probably best.

Truthfully i'd put convicts with oscars before the pumpkinseed. Convicts are mean tough fish and can bully fish like oscars around, i've seen it happen. To small will be lunch yes, but if they are of decent size going in i don't see why not.
