Clown loaches do well in groups. While you may get them small, the oscars will grow much faster than the clowns and I'd be very worried about the clowns being eaten. I'd stick to just the oscars.
I don't have much experience with oscars so I'll let someone else comment on the 3 in a 180 gallon, though I would think it would be ok as long as they weren't going to fight (again, I don't have enough experience to know if they will get along or not).
How lucky to have a 180 gallon tank!!

thx for the comments yes the tank is so awesome... i got it at a garage sale only bad thing was it only came with a stand no cover or anything so its taking a while to set up.
so the three oscars should be good in that size tank correct? any suggestions on a tankmate for just two oscars? for some variety and i already have a small pleco but im afraid he wont be able to get the job done.

Wow, 180 Gallon! that's cool, silver dollar would be a good tankmate, u can also keep green severum or bala sharks, but sometimes, nothing is safe with Oscars! be careful!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My oscars grew up with silver dollars, and jack dempseys...so if you want more than just oscars, stick with two, then maybe a couple silver dollars or JD's ..you wont need an algae eater for a bit...take awile to build some up...lucky find at a yard sale!!

Wow....180 gallons! *is jealous*

I agree that a nice school of silver dollars would look great in that tank, along with the two oscars!!

You could put some really awesome driftwood in there, and a big pleco.

wolf

i decided on two baby wolf cichlids. less than an inch long and im thinking about putting a catfish in there with them when they get too big to eat. the father of the wolves was a brilliant blue color and his owner was the fish store woner so he was magnificent and i hope the characteristics are passed on
