I would like some advice, i have a oscar he is about 10 inch long and about 9 mths old, he was bought as a baby, and he is in a 4ft by 2ft aquarium, i dont have a lid but have a cover securly clipped on, but last week we saw him jump out, he literally pushed off the cover and was on the wooden floor, he often jumps and we hear a big splash , i would like to know if this is normal, and why does he do it, he had been fed about 2 hrs before this..
im now paranoid he will be on the floor in the night, and we wont know till its too late.. thanks

welcome to fishlore!!!!!!!!!yes it is normal..they are super active, rearrange tanks, specially at feeding time they jump alot!!! .....and I think hes ran outta space...he needs to be in at least 75 gallon tank...im not sure what size a 4ft by 2ft tank is ...im a girlie and girls measure miles in feet LOL ....how are your tank readings, ammonia, nitrites, nitrates?

Yeah that's normal, u should add a strong Cover ASAP, otherwise accidents may happen, Oscars often jump out of the tank and die!
