Tanksize/needs for a BGK?

Theres a Black Ghost Knifefish at my LFS that I'm very tempted to buy, however I'm not really familiar with this type of fish. Does anyone know what size tank they require, and what sort of fish make compatible tankmates? Any info would be appreciated

I would suggest a minimum of 30G for 1 BKG. They would grow to about 7-8 inches in aquariums but most doesn't get that big (I haven't seen any bigger than that). They are carnivource and hunt at night, you better not keep them with the tetras. If you have a big enough tank, you can keep 2 in one tank, but they need separate hiding places as they fight. One more thing, don't keep them with fish who might want a piece of them, eg. oscars, big cichlids. Other than that, they're awesome fish, very unique.

To add to that NO fin nippers and they are very delicate fish so make sure tank is 100% cycled.

How would they get along with a Blue Acara, Kribs , Angels and Corys?

I have never kept one before but have done plenty of research: How big are your corys because anything that is small enough to fit into its mouth as an adult shouldnt be added now... Fish newbie had 1 so wait for his reply to be safe.

I've kept my 5" with angels and cory with no problem. My angels couldn't care less about them as they're mostly on top and middle region of the tank and BKG is mostly at the bottom unless its feeding time. I've also had small cory with the BKG without any problem at all, but that is just me, you might have 1 that is a super hunter and pick off your cory. I haven't kept them with the Blue Acara, Kribs so I wouldn't know. One more point, if you keep them with your angels, then the angels are the one that you need to worry about, BKB tends to chew on the angel's long fins and "beard" once in a while.

Thats just it: personality. One could be a vicious hunter and the next might not even eat ghost shrimp. etc
