tire track eel problems already ....


ok well no one can say that i didnt try my best, got my fav tt eel 8" 4 days ago, i expected it to hide all day but i did expect it to eat at some point even after lights go out
so far for 4 days it has refused bloodworm, algae wafers, cucumber, flake, dried blood worm and i have dug up 3 worms from the garden errrrr! i wouldnt do that for no one BESIDES this lovely specimen

by the way theres no way that i can poision my tank by getting worms from the garden is there?
what can i do?

I wouldn't use worms from any outside area that has been in contact with pesticides or other harmful chemicals. I do not know much about feeding fish with worms from outdoors though. My peacock eel just comes to the surface to eat Omega One freeze dried bloodworms. I'm sorry to hear that your eel is not eating. I would think that he'd be hungry enough to eat some bloodworms after a few days.

Worms from the outside should be fine as mentioned above. Make sure they are eaten and left in the substrate. They can really mess up your biological cycle in the tank if you don't. I hope he gets to feeling better and eating soon. Keep us posted.

well he seems to be eating them i only put 1 in per day a small one about 3 cm
he is 10" is one enough as he is gobbling them down now!!
think it must have been new surroundings!!
