How can I feed my Spiny Eel?

I have a peacock spiny eel living with herbivore's, omnivore's and carnivore's. All of the fish in the tank are aggressive eaters. From what I have read eels perfer worms like in the wild. I would like to keep this eel in the tank he's in. The problem is that if I feed them too many meaty foods like blood worms and brine shrimp then the herbivores will have digestive problems and end up with bloat. So how can I keep this eel fed? Will he fare okay with once a week bloodworms? Will he accept a high grade pellet with well balanced nutrition? I want him fat and healthy! If its not possible he's got another tank he can live in.

Ohh I forgot to mention when I do feed frozen foods they are gone so fast they rarely hit the bottom!

I would work with him until you can get him hand trained, then they will eat out of your hands. I had a peacock eel that would eat out of your hands.

Wow I don't know about hand feeding him. That's quite the feat you accomplished! Mine's pretty shy either in a cave or buried with his head sticking out. Besides I would be afraid of holding a cube of blood worms in a tank with a fully grown JD!

LOL, those eels are very gentle beings, and love affection.
Mine would come to the tank for attention.

I think you would be fine w/ the JD's just shoo them away..
