Sorry, I don't raise them.

I've been talking to the people at Big Al's aquariums (long distance call) from Colombia to Kitchener, Ontario :P but it's worth it.

The Bichir fish is from an eel family, and they shouldn't be too hard to raise. I suggest that if you were to raise some, I'd keep it in a tank large enough for one, or two.

If you were to add some fishes, I'd keep it in about a 350 gallon tank like I do.

Just one thing, if you were going to put some other fishes, DON'T PUT ANGELS. They get freaked out really really easily.

Good luck, send me an email whenever you want, and I'll get back to you. Don't worry I don't mind helping people

They actually aren't closely related to eels. They're ray-finned fish.

Many of them are brackish fish, coming from shallow swamps. They are also amazing escape artists. Most of them have rudimentary lungs and can move quite a ways. They're also illegal in some states/countries because of their potential to travel from waterway to waterway.
