Rhino fish ?

Hi can any body give me any information about a Rhino fish,cant seem to find much about them ive enclosed a picture of one cheers boff.

I don't know cant find any thing about it,do you think its a hybrid ,or have you herd of them ,found it on site selling fish but they don't have any information at the moment .Its a relay nice looking fish, if its a tetra do you think its a smallish fish any help would be brilliant cheers boff.

It is a cyprinid, of the barbus family (Barbus mariae) but no info in any of my tropical fish encyclopedias.

hi there boff the only info i could find was the size and country it comes from...it grows to 34 cm max adult size and comes from the rivers and streams in africa and kenya..thats a big fish ..

Well thanks for every body's help .If they didn't grow so big i would try to get some because they are a relay nice looking fish but proberly couldn't get them in the UK any way so cheers boff

the fish in question is a humpheaded glass fish. They are omnivores and grow to 3". Hard to find.

Thanks that explains alot .Do you think they will every be ready available.To change the subject have a look at the marking on this clown,have been trying to find one like it but no luck yet ,do you think its a one off .

I found this one on Bowheads forum its owner is mikev and called dotty ,so its possible to find another one .

The humphead glass fish were only discovered three years ago, so they don't know what fish it goes well with and which ones it doesn't do well with. I learned all this from my LFS which had 2 for sale and one either died in the store or it was sold. I think that you can also tell the gender by the darkness of that hump it has. I don't know for sure but i am pretty sure about that. I hope this helped.

Welcome. I would have gotten them but they were at least $37 each and I only had enough to buy the necessities. I don't know any more about the glassfish because the owner only said that much because there isn't that much info on them yet. They are still very beautiful fish.
