Just a real quick observation:
We've had our rope fish for about a month now, and I noticed something very strange a few days ago...I was watching the fish, and realized I couldn't see the rope. My first thought was that he might have wiggled into the filter, but he was no where to be found!! After several nervous minutes, I see the tip of the rope's tail sticking out of our substrate and the rest of him buried underneath our java fern "forest"!!!! After a few minutes, his head came out beside the edge of the fern and he swam out. And then he dove back in, and back out. Is this normal??
Since he has discovered that he can fit in between the java fern roots/rhizomes, he goes in and out quite frequently. His main home remains under our driftwood, but he especially likes to "burrow" in our substrate, sometimes staying there for up to an hour. I have tried filling in the "tunnels," but he continues to make them. Any suggestions
