glassfish and glass catfish

ok so i'm sure everyone knows this but i don't... are these both naturally clear... they arent painted but i saw them and they look so cool... and can anyone tell me if the glass catfish are more like cories in size or how long they can get

Yes, both glass catfish and glassfish are members of a family of fish that have naturally clear flesh. Glassfish are popular as painted fish, so if you see clear fish with little fluorescent dots floating in them, they've been painted.
Not sure how long glass catfish get. Some of the ones I've seen at petsmart are larger already than dwarf cories, but I don't know whether they were adults or not.

I believe I've read glassfish are usually around 6"? I faintly recall looking at them but when told the size I had to turn away.

Glassfish cap out at around 3". Are you talking about glass catfish being 6"?

The catfish must be it, I'm pretty sure it was some of the two that got about that size. I was looking at them when I was thinking about doing a cave like aquarium but they were just too big for the tank I had.

These are Glass fish(Chanda ranga) which get about three inches.

These are Glass Catfish (Kryptopterus bicirrhis) which get about six inches

also Kryptopterus minor which only get a little over three inches.

there is definitely in a difference in looks and size of glass fish and glass catfish

Thanks for posting that. I've never seen the glass fish before, really wish I had because I think they would of been perfect. I need to start making sure about the infomation I have before posting - I don't want to mislead anyone.
