Tire Track Eel

Does anyone else have a Tire Track eel I would like some more information on them. I hope to pick mine up on 2/27/08 and I am in the process of screening the top by the filters. I hear they are great escape artists and I don't want mine to get out. My fish become my kids and I would hate to lose one to my own stupidity.

Thanks in advance

if u have a whisper filter they LOVE to hide in there... its not hard to get them to come out tho.... to answer u question.. yes i have one. i named it Sweetheart b/c well shes a sweetheart. they kinda limit u on what to feed them tho.. thawed frozen blood worms and live black worms im guessing until theyre larger. i wouldnt know if she has tried to eat flake, not likely tho. its best if u have sand or small rounded/polished gravel so they dont get hurt.. it can happen really easily

heres a link to a guy who really knows what he's doin.. http://www.aqualandpetsplus.com/Oddb...piny%20Eel.htm

btw... my eel has never tried to bury itself in gravel... good luck

Tire Track Eel

He is so cool I just had to post a picture of him. I have done the foil thing for now and I will be replacing it with plastic screen until I can get a larger acrylic tank for him and his buddies. I also want to get a canister filter system for it as well.

be sure to look through your ornamental decorations inside the tank if you take them out for cleaning as they tend to hide inside.
