Algae Eaters

I returned my aggressive Chinese Algae Eater a few days back, and now I am looking for a peaceful algae eater for my 12 gallon well planted tank. Currently, there are no fish in that tank, but I am planning on buying a trio of kuhli loaches and some tetras. What are my options as far as algae eaters go? Any personnal experience with these types of fish will be greatly appreciated!

You could get about 3-4 otocinclus catfish for that tank. They are excellent algae eaters, and they are extremely peaceful fish. I'd love some if I could find any.

Also just be aware that if there are no fish in your tank, the bacteria will very soon die off, and you will have to re-cycle the tank. My advice would be to keep 'feeding' the tank, to ensure that there is a source of ammonia for the bacteria to feed on.

Yes, otos are really good. Peaceful and hard working. Make sure you get a group,,,they like their buddies! I have 5 in a 55g, and I never see one in a spot by itself. Good luck.
