So, I have this crazy eel ...

Every now and again, we wont see him for a day... so we go hunting for him, and lo and behold we find him in the filter. We have found him there a few times... I am beginning to think he likes it in there. His usual home is in a tree root, but for some reason, he digs going into the filter... I dont even know how he gets in there. Its such a tight squeeze.

Hes nuts.

No he sneaks in through the outflow... Its a penguin bio wheel... I cant figure how it happens but, he just swims up the current and wha-la hes in the filter... wierd!!

wow thats crazy lol ive heard of plecos doing that to get more goodies but not eels lol

Try dropping the water level in the tank.
I have had to do that with plecos before.

maybe he likes eating the junk off the filter media or something... I cant imagine he likes it in there, but every now and then he goes back in .... so he either likes to eat garbage or is just plain looney...
