At moment theres Brute, plus a 4 inch Dempsey Male, and the Jewels and Convict. The Con is the smallest, only about 2 inches, but also the most aggressive. I think the Flowerhorns are about 4 inches. How big do they get. Can't seem to find any info on them?

I want a Golden Monkey! Do you think I'd be pushing it for space with a Flowerhorn? That would be the Oscar, Flowerhorn and JD in a 90gal, plus the 4 smaller guys.........

the smaller ones arent a bioload issue...and depending on how big your flowerhorn and oscar get, it could be down the line...is 90 gals the biggest you are going to go? with extra filtration (as im sure you have as you were going to have 2 oscars) its doable but with the jd in there, it could be an upgrade in the future but I agree the golden monkeys are amazing ..

The Filtration is superb and I do water changes twice a week. As for an upgrade, yes there will definatly be one down the road. I was looking at a 125gal at the weekend, but the wife refused as we are expecting our second child in october. (It cost $2000!)

Updated Pics It's been a while since I've updated the Blog so here's some recent pics of the fish in the 90gal. I rescued a Severum from the LFS a few months ago. He's taken to the tank brilliantly and has become best friends with Brute, they spend all day together swimming up and down the tank. All of the other fish are doing great too. Cresswell the Dempsey has moved into the large cave, and is growing fast now. He'll be catching Brute up size wise before to long!

Picture Time!!!!!!! After a good clean the tank actually looks HOW I WANT IT TO!!!!!!!!!!.......... it won't look like this for long though. By the time I get up all the plants will have been ripped out, and most of the sand shovelled to the front of the tank for some bizarre reason that only Brute knows. I mean, I could understand it if they were real plants. But they're only imitations! And poor imitations at that. I'm watching him now...........he just ripped a piece off one of the plants and tried to eat it, spat it out, then went and ripped another piece off! If he couldn't eat the first piece why did he think the second would be edible!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry for the rant

Nick, so sorry Brute's giving you a hard time, but that tank looks FANTASTIC and Brute is absolutely gorgeous! What species is that little fellow in there with him? He's a cutie! |
