We got our neon tetra a little over a week ago he was fine the bigger fish didnt bother him or nothing (we also got other tetras that were smaller)
At some point he got injured tho, underneath his mouth--it got tore open by the look of it, but he was swimming around acting ok---still eating and everything
but in the last day he has well.........gone vertical. all he does is bounce vertically in allllllllll day long he never stops. Hes to small to tell if there are any missing fins or anything but i dont think there is
hes still eating but im not sure what to do
I dont know what happened or how to help him
*warning the video is heartbreaking* and the bubbles are way behind the breeder i have him in---they are not affecting him nor at they causing him to bounce like that
No i dont think its swimbladder........i think when he tore under his mouth he basically tore his gils and its something to do wiht that, like he was drowning (can fish drown?)
I'm so sorry about your tetra, Heather. It's so saddening to even watch the video. The injury under his mouth could've caused him to tear his gills, it is a possibility but it could be something to do with his swimbladder as well looking at how he swims...
