behavior

what is normal for neon's- such as what part of the water column do they favor and how much do they swim v. rest in a cozy hiding spot, etc.? Thanks!

Neons are a fairly active species and appreciate an open swimming area to shoal. when not actively shoaling, they will usually gather under a shady locartion, such as under a large leafed plant and wait for food. This fish inhabits all areas of the aquarium, but typically the middle to lower areas

Thanks, that's what I am seeing. I've also noticed an increase in activity after turning the lights out...

they like subdued lighting and shady locations. if you have bright lights, you may want to consider dimming the lights
