I herd it is not good to mix neons with other fish, as neon's spread diseases to other fish. Is this true ?

Neons are fine with other fish. There is a disease called neon tetra disease but as far as I know(someone correct me If I'm wrong) it only attacks Neons.

It is extremely fatal to neons. The fish will basically start losing color from the back up. It does not respond to meds very well or at all. I believe poor water conditions contribute to it or if one diseased fish has it, goodbye neons.

You are exactly right smillermom although I've had neons for many years and never ahd any with this problem. Neons are commonly kept with other fish without any problems Joe.
