I have seven neon tetra's in my Tank, along with a Male betta, and 3 otto's.

I just wondered if it's possible for neons to breed in a community Tank? Three of my Neons look to be rather large in the stomach area. I wouldn't say they were bloated as such, more that their stomachs appear to be hanging low if you get what I mean by that.

I'd always been told that Neons don't generally breed in a community tank. I don't mind if they lay eggs and such, because I know my other fish will eat them anyway, but I'm just rather surprised to see three of my Neons looking distinctly as though they're carrying eggs.

It's possible, but water needs to be perfect (chemistry wise) and the eggs should be removed or the breeding parents should spawn in a different tank for them to survive. It's difficult to raise the fry.

Its unlikely your Neon's will breed. As TFA101 said, they need perfect water quality and careful care. I've read a community tank won't work.

I agree with the above posters, I've read the same thing.
Please becareful with the neons and the betta. Someone might get hurt or killed.
